I CAN BE A WIFE NOW

It's exam week, and so we have all been studying hard with little time left to eat properly, much less cook. However, today was Study Dday, and I decided not to go out until after lunch, since I was going to be heading over to the Chemistry Building-- first to drop off my oh-so-BS'd lab report, and then to study in the Chem Library, and then to go to the review session, and finally, to study some more in the Chem Library. Fun stuff, say you? Torture, says I.

In any case, I had been planning to fry some eggs for some time now, and I never really got around to doing it-- maybe because it's so greasy and unhealthy (but OH SO YUMMY). But today, I decided I'd make a full fledged MEAL.

When I was cutting up the broccoli, however, I noticed that there it was an unusually large head of broccoli-- enough for two portions. So I decided to cook enough for two meals and make a BENTO! (Lunchbox, for those of you Japanese-illiterate)

And here it is:
Contents of my bento: Rice (of course-- it's the staple), broccoli (steam-fried?), egg with Hickory Farm sausage and Monterey Jack cheese, and fish sung (which is ground fish-- I think it's sailfish) with nori.

YUM.

Suffice to say, I was eagerly awaiting my food when dinnertime rolled around. Hehe. Too bad I had to eat it cold...

But yeah. I'm ready to be a Japanese wife who prepares the nice little meals for her hubby...

O_o

Ok, maybe not so much.

Gaspu... (click on pix to enlarge)

And another post begins!
So~ The above is Jeffkun, looking quite handsome as usual. We were in Banana Republic and being goofy as usual. Our parents were out for the night, and I decided to bring the boys to the mall to get dinner and shop around (while we waited for Jon's volleyball at CCACC to start).
This above happened over the summer when my mom and I were driving back one day from Fallsgrove and although someone said it was just a "practice" fire, we know that there should only be housing developments there, sooo... O_o;; I wonder what happened... (on a side note, do you see that cute little kimono-clad dollie I got from Japan? Isn't so cute???)

Above is from that time I took the boys to the mall as well. We had a lot of fun with cameras. Yay! I am CAMERA HAPPY... O_o;
Halloween pictures:

L->R: Me, Kathy, Jon, and my dad. What's with the blue trend? Haha, i didn't realize how much blue I owned (all the blue you see was once owned by me... ^.^;;)~ This year, Kathy came over to my house to Trick-o-TREAT! YEAYAH!!! WE MAY BE 20 YEARS OLD, BUT WE WILL BE DARNED IF WE DON'T ENJOY OUR YOUTH (ha) WHILE WE CAN!! If you can't tell, I'm a demented fairy, and Kathy's a thug, and Jon's an illegal Mexican immigrant-- hey wait! EVERYTHING on that screen was once owned by me... minus my bro's hat... O_o;;; Eh heh... ^.^;;;;;;;
Oh yeah, I also went as the demented fairy girlfriend of the terribly fearsome THUG KAT DAWG... yeah that doesn't make sense..... nevermind... ^.^;;

Above is me with brothers, Kathy, and the scary mask dude is Jeff's friend, Kevin~

And I thought I'd just end with a picture of my portion of th room. This is what I stare at every day, folks! ^__^ <3

And that is all I have for today~ jaaaaa~!! peaceandloveandhappiness!! (wow, I feel like a hippie... >3<;;;)

Long time no post! My bad, I've been... busy as a bee. To say the least.

Anyway, I have PICTURES! HURRAH! So let's see, shall we? Sorry, no Japan pics yet... I'll get to them. One day...

Hajime yo...

Just one pic from our home tourney... It was sad. Half the teams who showed up were from ... UMCP. T__T;; How embarassing. And we ended up being the two teams who made it to playoffs... Ugh. Anyway, here's my lovely ladies!

A bit out of order, but... Let's just try to sum up my Thanksgiving with... a few words: NJ Baltimore Aquarium CHEAP GAS!!

Good stuff... Click on the pictures for an enlarged (MUCH bigger) version if you want to read the writing a bit better... ^_^;

Apologies...

Whoops-- I had been meaning to post, but obviously I'm incompetent at keeping up to date with this every day... -__-;;;

Anyway, I'll just post with something I made recently for my high school boys' volleyball team, who won championships in our county last year! YAY, BOYS!! (It's a t-shirt design.... ^_^;)

Whoops---

Yeah-- I MEANT to update every day, but the past week has been... Stressful, to say the least. Perhaps more pictures on that later. Although I have ~600+ to go through from the past week alone, so perhaps not. I'll probably put up something simple and if you want actual pictures of it later, let me know. Leave a comment. I'll get it through my email.

In any case, this is just my white board. Not so white, apparently, but... I use it as a little inspiration to keep me going after my dreams with a gung-ho attitude. And hopefully, so will everyone else.

I think it's funny that the "being" and the "solid" are less solid than the other words... Kind of ironic, isn't it?

Thank you, BVA!!!!

Thank you, Board of Veterans' Appeals, for giving me a wonderful experience this summer! (sadly, this is the only picture I have from this summer's work... ;__;)

It was a great experience, I learned a lot, and had a ton of fun!! Whee!!!!

Joey - Our family's newest baby!

Haha-- this is what my brother and I got for Jeff for his 10th birthday. However, my mom discovered that Joey (for that is his name) is approximately the perfect size of an infant child, and promptly dug out our baby clothes and clothed Joey in them.

I'll post pictures of that later. In the meantime-- my parents and our newest... baby brother.... -_-;

Mmm...

Mmm.... doesn't this look delicious? And can you believe it's actually airline food..??? airlinemeals.net

Happy Birthday to a sexxay TEN YEAR OLD!

Thanks for taking the beatings and lickings from your two elder sibs. We know we abuse and use you for our amusement, but we love you so much!

<3

Jeff-- you're the one dream that I had that's ever come true, so stay sweet and be good~ Ten years have passed in a flash, and you're HALF MY AGE NOW. FROM NOW ON, you'll be MORE than half my age! AUGH! SO SHOCK.

I love you, Jeffkun. 我愛你!!! 如果你需要跟人聊天, 請你打電話給你姊姊哦!!!! 十歲了哦... 你已經是大朋友了... 要好好的take care of 姊姊哥哥爸爸和媽媽哦!!!

~姊姊

WELCOME BACK, KATHY DEAR!!! 歡迎你回來了!!!!

Welcome back from the land of the Chinese, my Korean friend! ^__^ (You're probably more Chinese than I am now!!!)

Cute, isn't it?

I went shopping last night with my mom and Jon for our youngest brother's 10th birthday gift. And ended up buying this for myself:
Isn't it cute? Mine is actually a brick red hue, but it's very pretty. It was a set of three, so there is black and white included too, and I think my brother's using the black one...

Sorry about lack of update yesterday. I didn't realize that I hadn't posted until this morning.

Whoops. My bad.

Flower

Took this at Duke. Didn't have time to do more than just go brain dead today (super bad headache + five hours of volleyball + three hour Innoworks meeting = PAIN), so this is all:

Yo.

Feeling a bit tired (and therefore, extremely lazy) today because of a day-long carwash with too many successive crises. So I will just post this picture up and remind myself to be happy.

YO. Stay cool. Stay happy. If you're not happy, then what's the point of living? Keep yourself and others happy, and the world will be a better face.

Peace out.

Japan Trip - Day THREE

Finally, next installation of PICTURES FROM JAPAN!! W00T!!! (Took long enough, huh?)

This. Is an AWESOME toilet. It cleans your butt for you. Just press a few buttons, and you can have streams of lukewarm water cleanse your... erm, bum, for you. It's got different pressure choices, as well as an option for massage-type cleansing. Cool, ain't it now? My grandpa has one in Taiwan, and one of the obaasans (grandmothers) has one back home in America. They're not cheap, I can tell you that....
Inside my oh-so-nice Shinjuku hotel. I snuck upstairs to the second floor where it was nice and empty. Mm, so comfy...
So this is me in front of the .. err... I forget what it is. Really tall building. I think it was the town hall or something type building. Hehe. It was across the street from the Keio Plaza Hotel where we stayed.View... I just kept imagining Go-jee-laa (Godzilla) attacking and trampling along this row of buildings... don't they look so... artificial? Haha~
Little kids! AAhh! SO CUTE!
BMW. Nice.
Wow-- there's GREEN in Tokyo? SO SHOCK. O_O Oh, it's either Meiji Shrine or the Imperial Palace. otherwise-- everything is silver and grey. And clean.
The sign outside of the building. Yup. I can't read it. Oh well. I can read the first three (the first two say "Tokyo") but that doens't help me.
A bunch of kids on their graduation field trip! We saw so many of these kids on our way through Japan. The small ones are SO cute. And these-- well, they were older, but still kind of weird, because they were all in uniform...
Ahh-- leaving the city. And into the wilderness....
of the MOUNTAINS! So green...
Ah! Here we are-- Lake Ashi:

Me, Ming, Mike, and Amy (yes, guys, this picture DOES look a bit forced):I'm not kidding. This was our ride. Pimp, isn't it?
Mmm, kirei desho...
This guy was fishing-- and caught a fish while we were waiting! He's reeling it in right now...
About to board-- I put the hat away soon after because I kept getting afraid that it would be blown away by the wind~
CAPTAIN OF THE BOAT! Plus Mike, me, Amy, and Gordon.
Once we landed, we got on this little contraption that brought us to the top of one of the mountains. On the way up, we saw these kids on the way down-- such sweet kids! They waved, peace-signed, and took pictures of us every time they passed~ And at least four or five groups passed us!!
THE YELLOW HATS. OMG, HOW ADORABLE. CAN I TAKE ONE OF YOU HOME WITH ME TO AMERICA?!?!?!!!
My little car's obaasan and ojiisan (plus their kids on the very right):
Beginning of the cute yellow-capped kiddo pictures (Ming and children):
Amy with them:
Ming actually borrowed one of their hats:
Ah, Kevin (who has yet to come out of the closet, I believe) and the mountain that smokes. There's volcanic activity, and he just told us that, in case Mt. Fuji or any other volcano blows, that we might as well just strike a pretty pose and take a picture, so that future generations will be able to see us in a nice light instead of running and screaming and dying.... Weirdo.

The BLACK eggs... for sale. ~$5.00 for six eggs. Not bad, considering they're BLACK. Weird. Apparently if you boil eggs in the sulfuric water and the eggs turn black upon being ready...
This is how they cook them (well, after they're done, anyway):

The shells of all the eggs that people have eaten.
Crows are happy with leftovers:
And how do they get the eggs up the mountain in the first place? Well, they put them in this little pully operated contraption and send it up! Like a mini version of what we rode to get up the mountain!
Group shot (Ming, Gordon, Amy, Mike, and me):
Ming traumatized this poor kid. I tried to talk to him Japanese, and realized that I didn't know how to say "hat" in Japanese, so this is me: "Ano... Asoko wa anata no... err... haatto ga suki desu...." Hahahaha. Didn't reaaally work at all. But he still took a picture. They both made peace signs, but I kind of missed it.
Yeaaaah, don't really want to drink this sulfur-filled water.
Our next stop were the Atami Hot Springs. Oh, onsen! Here we come!!!

Me:
Eric:

Our quaint room!
View from my room:
Our dinner (good gracious, it was a GREAT meal):
Ming and Gordon.
Erica and me.

Our personal hot pot! Ok, this thing is green-tea flavored tofu, I THINK. I took a little bite and decided it wasn't worth pursuing. One of the few things that I didn't like in Japan.

YUM. OMG, SO GOOD.Ah, karaoke time! That would be Kevin going up first to warble in his... err, beautifully inspiring voice. Inspiring in that we would be inspired to go up and sing so that HE wouldn't stay up there all night! The guy with the outer green coat on the in the foreground is actually a kid from my school, Eric. For some reason we ended up meeting halfway across the world. Weird, huh? And I had only just met him the week before because I'm friends with his girlfriend and we went out to celebrate a mutual friend's birthday...
The hot springs were behind these two entry-ways (guys on the left, girls on the right-- the character in the middle is "Yu"-- though I have no idea what it means here). We didn't take pictures inside (obviously), though Erica and I did go in and look around. We got freaked by the massive number of old ladies in their birthday suits sitting around that we just high tailed it out of there...!
Ready for bed?

Mmm... Bedtime!
Well-- until next time!
